Douglas C. Spears
A fourth generation Florida native, Doug Spears is well known in the legal and business community for his exceptional skills as a trial lawyer. During his career thus far, he has been involved in some of the largest jury verdicts to be awarded in commercial cases in central Florida's history.
Doug was born in Leesburg, Florida. He received his B.A. degree in political science from Stetson University in 1980. While at Stetson, Doug was President of the Student Union and a member of both the Omicron Delta Kappa and Mortar Board honor societies.
Doug received his J.D. degree from the Florida State University College of Law in 1983, where he was a member of both the Law Review and the Moot Court team. Since graduating Doug has remained very active with the law school, serving on both the Alumni Board of Directors (President 1997-1998) and the Board of Visitors.

During that period, he was lead counsel or co-counsel in cases resulting in jury verdicts for the firm's clients ranging from 2.7 million to 18 million dollars. He joined what is now Stump, Dietrich, Spears & Norman, P.A. as Of Counsel in 1999 reuniting with law school classmate and close personal friend, John Stump.
